Thursday, 4th September – The Nomad Theatre, East Horsley, Surrey

Get ready for a truly unique evening of magic, science, and mind-bending illusions.

Dr Matt Pritchard—known around the world as The Science Magician and creator of the popular Designing Deceptions series—blends his background in physics with cutting-edge illusion design to create stunning visual effects that have amassed a massive following online. An award‑winning performer and an Associate of the Inner Magic Circle, he brings more than twenty years of experience in magic and science communication. He has designed illusions for venues including the Royal Institution, Royal Society, and British Science Festival.

What to Expect:

  • Screenings of his signature viral illusions, from impossible disappearances to perceptual riddles

  • Interactive participation: audiences invited to propose their own explanations for what they’ve just seen

  • In‑depth stories behind the methods, design process, and development journey of each illusion

  • Insights into the creative mindset at the intersection of science and magic

This promises to be a very different evening: part illusion show, part detective game, part masterclass in creative thinking.

Whether you're an illusionist, educator, scientist—or simply curious—this is a rare chance to dive into the mechanics of wonder and deception with one of the field’s most inventive minds.

Doors open at 7:30 PM.
Hosted by the Surrey Society of Magicians.
